Thank you for using Closet. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Closet mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or using Closet, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Using Closet

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you must have parental permission to use Closet.

Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Closet only for its intended purpose: personal prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth. You will not:

  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to access other users' private data
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise the Service
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute content from the Service
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity

2. Your Content

Ownership

You retain all rights to your prayer reflections, journal entries, and voice recordings ("Your Content"). We don't claim ownership of anything you create in Closet.

License to Us

By using Closet, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you. This includes:

  • Storing your data on our servers
  • Syncing your data across your devices
  • Processing voice recordings for transcription (if you use this feature)
  • Analyzing reflections with AI (only if you opt in)

Responsibility for Content

You are solely responsible for Your Content. We don't monitor, review, or control what you write or record in your prayers.

3. Free Service

Closet is provided free of charge. We may accept donations to support development and maintenance, but the core app will always remain free.

We reserve the right to introduce optional premium features in the future, but the essential prayer and reflection functionality will always be free.

4. Intellectual Property

The Closet app, including its design, features, Scripture prompts, and reflection questions, is owned by Closet Prayer App and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Scripture passages are from public domain or licensed Bible translations. All reflection questions and prompts are original content created by Closet.

5. Disclaimers and Limitations

Spiritual Guidance

Closet is a tool to facilitate your personal prayer life. It is not a substitute for:

  • Professional counseling or therapy
  • Medical or mental health treatment
  • Pastoral care or spiritual direction
  • Church community and fellowship

If you're experiencing a crisis, please seek help from qualified professionals or contact a crisis hotline.

Service Availability

We strive to keep Closet available 24/7, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Closet Prayer App shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

6. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings.

7. Termination

You may stop using Closet at any time by deleting your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that harms other users or the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases, and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by email or through the app.

Your continued use of Closet after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
